Keep your diesel engine running smoothly - bring your vehicle in to OBD Diagnostics when you see the DPF Warning light on your dashboard
Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) are devices designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gases of a diesel engine. Diesel engines produce a wide range of particles during combustion due to the incomplete combustion of the fuel/air mix. These particles are then caught by the DPF in an attempt to reduce air pollution from diesel engines.
The DPF warning light should not be ignored if it appears on your dashboard. In order to maintain its functionality, the DPF must "Re-Generate" itself. If a fault anywhere in the exhaust system occurs, the filter can get clogged and stop working as efficiently as it needs to.
Just in case you're not sure, here's how to check your tyre size.
